Even if kids don't like roller coasters, there are plenty of activities and attractions at LEGOLAND Theme Park in Winter Haven, Florida, to keep them entertained and engaged. Here are some options for kids who prefer to avoid roller coasters:
LEGO Minifigure Trading: One of the unique experiences at LEGOLAND is the opportunity for kids to trade LEGO Minifigures with Model Citizens (staff members) throughout the park. This activity encourages interaction and adds an element of excitement to the visit. At Legoland Florida you can trade mini-Lego figures with any staff member in the Legoland Florida park! Bring some mini figures with you from home or buy some at the gift shop to get involved with this fun activity! I would recommend bringing the Lego mini figures from home if you are looking for ways to save money. This way your children can select Lego mini figures that they do not love and bring home new Lego mini figures to play with!
The Lego Mini figures were also a really fun way to entertain the boys on the airplane and while waiting in transit and are small enough to put in their pockets and keep track of themselves! My kids absolutely loved talking to the staff members and trading during our trip! It was a great way to talk more to the Legoland Florida staff and add a treasure hunt like aspect to the trip.
Trading mini figures was one of my kids favorite things about the Legoland Florida theme park! You definitely want to stop by the Legoland Florida coffee shop at the entrance and check out the amazing mini figure trading spot that you see in the photo above!
Build & Test: In the Build & Test area, kids can unleash their creativity and engineering skills by designing and constructing their own LEGO creations. They can then put their creations to the test on various challenges and interactive displays.

There are various shows available in the Legoland Florida theme park and we opted to stop and watch the Brickbeard water sport show one afternoon as the boys were getting tired from lots of walking! Complete with speed boats, skis, flips, cannons and your favorite Lego figures its sure to capture the attention of Lego lovers of all ages!
What can my toddler do at Legoland Florida Theme Park?
DUPLO® Village for Toddlers and Preschoolers
My 3 year old LOVED this area. The rides were absolutely perfect for the toddler - 3 year old age and they can do alone or with siblings depending on height. There are photo opportunities, play structures and seating throughout the DUPLO® area that makes navigating with tiny Lego lovers a breeze. The DUPLO® area is conveniently situated at the front of the park too for ease of getting in and out.
The Legoland Florida theme park is so well laid out that we could separate with the kids and meet back easily. We loved the tractor and train and would have ridden for hours and hours. During warmer weather the Duplo Village has a splash pad open too!
What Items Do I Need to Pack for Legoland Theme Park?
Your family must have comfortable walking shoes on! The paths are huge and easily maneuverable with a stroller if you need/want to bring one with you. I would suggest packing a bookbag with a change of clothes for each family member (you will get soaked after riding Battle of Bricksburg)!
What is the best age to take my child to Legoland Florida Theme Park?
This is the question I get most from readers and followers on social media. I really do not think you could go wrong at any age (I am 35 and had the time of my life!). But, I think going before your child is 10 would be ideal.
Dining Options at Legoland Florida Theme Park
I loved the food in the park. There are 16 restaurants and carts available around the park. Legoland Florida theme park is packed with vegetarian, gluten free, vegan. soy and dairy free options available at almost every restaurant which was amazing. There were options for healthier choices and the prices were very reasonable for families.
There are food options scattered around the park and you have sit down and food cart options for ease / preferences of your family. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee from the Legoland Coffee Co. when you immediately walk into the park. The peppermint mocha was hands down the best drink I have ever ordered at a coffee shop (and I am picky!!)
Purchase the Coca-Cola Freestyle Souvenir Cup you can continue to be hydrated during your stay. This refillable cup is 17$ and there are refill stations are everywhere! This is a MUST do in my opinion!
Are there discounts for Legoland Theme Park tickets?
If you are planning on visiting Legoland Florida multiple times in a year or live close enough to make trips regularly, then you have to check out the annual passes available. Shopping / Souvenirs at Legoland Florida Theme Park
There are so many cool shops and opportunities to take home Lego goodies with you, but I highly suggest saving your spending money for the mega shop near the entrance and exit. We took home the Legoland exclusive sets that you wont find elsewhere and rebuild the theme park at home after our trip was over. What a fun souvenir that you will play with and remember your trip for years and years to come with a replica of the park!
Is Legoland Florida Theme Park Worth Revisiting?
My family is already planning a return trip to Legoland Florida! We had such a fun time as a family and it is such a great theme park for younger children. The entire experience was phenomenal at Legoland Florida and it is definitely a trip that would be just as enjoyable to take multiple times!
This wraps up our trip review and the boys ask me every day if we are “getting back on the plane to go to legoland today?” And I won’t even lie I’m ready for head back too. If you are thinking about adding the Legoland Water Park tickets onto your trip, read all of the details about the Legoland Florida water park you will want to know in this blog post.
Spoiler alert: We LOVED Legoland Florida Pirate Island Hotel so much we are already planning a return trip. Seriously, even Parks and I had a LOT of fun, maybe even more fun than the kids did.
